Linda Blair

Linda Linda LindaLinda Blair, who was just five years old in the year she was cast, had to get used to being at the center of attention. At first, as a child model or actor, she won the role as Regan the demonized girl from amongst 600 applicants for The Exorcist, (1973). Linda Blair rose quickly to notoriety and was awarded her first Golden Globe. She was expected to also win an Academy Award. But when the story leaked that some scenes were dubs and that a stunt-dummy played just eight seconds, the whole idea was shattered. In the following years, she didn't have any trouble getting the lead role in a range of film productions, such as the wildly successful television series Born Innocent (1974) (the number one TV show of that year) as well as Sarah T. - Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic (1975) in addition to an Exorcist sequel Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977). But when she was peer pressured into buying cocaine when she was just of 18 years old, it resulted in an arrest and subsequent sentencing to three years of probation. Linda's career in Hollywood was cut to B films, and occasionally television appearances, including her well-publicized arrest on drugs possession.
